A mere 293 cases of the legendary 2008 DRC Montrachet exists and we have SIX beautiful bottles to offer to you. A few years ago, Neal Martin tasted this wine and said "ranks among not only the best vintages that I have tasted from the domaine, but possibly the greatest white Burgundy I have ever tasted" (NM99).
Antonio Galloni recently said this about the 2008 Montrachet:
"2008 remains one of my all-time favorite vintages of the Domaine’s Montrachet " (Antonio Galloni, 98+)
This wine is fully loaded, ready to deliver one of your most incredible white burgundy experiences. What is even better is that our price is the lowest in the country by over $3,000 a bottle! Cheaper than the 2017 and 2018 with similar scores and far cheaper than the 2019, but this one is open for business!
These bottles were acquired from trusted cellars and sources that we have been buying from for decades. You can buy with confidence and feel free to reach out with any questions regarding these bottles.
Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Montrachet 2008
The 2008 Montrachet from Domaine de la Romanée-Conti ranks among not only the best vintages that I have tasted from the domaine, but possibly the greatest white Burgundy I have ever tasted. The nose is breathtaking in terms of its precision and mineralité. There are not overt, easily definable aromas in situ, more an articulation of the vineyard that translates every single atom where it came from. The palate is bewitching in terms of its perfect bead of acidity, laser-like focus and the vein of salinité that leaves you begging for more. This is close to perfection. Tasted at the mature white Burgundy dinner in Hong Kong.

The 2008 Montrachet is simply off the charts. Where to start? Layers of fruit literally explode in the glass as the wine conquers all of the senses. The aromatics alone are breathtaking, while the fruit shows striking nuance and transparency. But those descriptors totally fail to capture what is in the glass. This is one of the most moving young wines I have ever tasted. The 2008 is rich, seductive and powerful, but never heavy. Finely chiseled mineral nuances saturate the palate all the way through to the intensely saline finish. When I think of what I want Montrachet to be, it is this. The 2008 Montrachet is an aspirational wine in the very best sense. Ideally another few years in bottle will help the wine become even more expressive and several decades of profound drinking seem likely. Wow!
