Lafite 2005

At GRW, we always want to make sure our prices are the most competitive with the current market. That is why we are excited to share with you our new and better price on the 2005 Lafite in Original Wooden Cases! The 12-pack is down from $12,500 to $11,995 and the 6-pack from $6,250 to $5,995

The 2005 vintage has been slow to evolve, the tell-tale signs that this will be a vintage that will age gracefully for decades. That being said, we have had a handful of 2005 Bordeaux over the last year, and we feel they are showing exceptionally well and are absolutely worth paying attention to.

Lafite Rothschild & their expression of this hallowed vintage is one you won't want to miss. The most elegant of the Firsts in 2005, it is "A wine worthy of superlatives". Follow this over the next 30+ years and you are sure to be handsomely rewarded. This will be one of the longest-lived wines of the year.

We have pristine OWC's available for just a few lucky collectors.
Happy Shopping!

"An incredible nose, so subtle with red fruits, mint, minerals, and all sorts of flowers give way to Cohiba cigar tobacco. The palate has such freshness and density, with perfectly polished tannins. Slightly leathery, like a wonderful Hermes bag. What a wine, please leave this for another ten years."

"A wine worthy of superlatives, the 2005 Lafite showed incredible concentration yet a superb balance. The lovely blackcurrant and plum fruit shows a fragrant floral edge, hints of oak spice, and a firm, earthy underpinning. The texture is superbly elegant, with a lovely freshness and a lilting, silky finish, yet it does not lack a tannic grip, and the finish is satisfyingly long. Near perfection. A blend of 89% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot with just a drop of Petit Verdot, aged in new casks."

99 points, Decanter
