Rare Burgundy: Bizot's 2015 Les Jachees - Best Price!

Wine bottles on display

Miniscule production (less than 1,000 cases annually), an elusive winemaker and remarkable quality: the ingredients for Burgundy celebrity are all present at Domaine Jean-Yves Bizot.

3rd generation vigneron Bizot owns approximately 3.5ha of vines which he manages from his property in Vosne-Romanee. His vines are particularly old, with many of the parcels planted prior to 1960. He employs the Leroy ‘tall vine’ technique of not hedging the shoots during the summer to encourage photosynthesis in the leaves. No de-stemming, very little SO2 added, minimal intervention in general – basically natural wine, before that was a trendy thing, which allows the vineyard to show its most true and authentic self.

The style of the wines is one of lacy pure fruit, with every detail of flavor finely delineated. Explosively aromatic and spicy thanks to the use of the stems, the wines show a remarkably silky texture in spite of their considerable concentration. Bizot always uses 100% whole clusters, and while the fruit is generous and succulent, the wines are eminently savory expressions of red Burgundy.

Today we are focusing on Bizot's 2015 Les Jachees - A relatively obscure 1.3 ha vineyard that is rarely listed on most maps of the commune; it is situated between La Colombière and Bossières and Bizot owns .7 ha of it. This is a striking wine, framed by powdery tannins and a pungently perfumed finish. When asked about the vintage, Bizot said, "what is especially appealing about the style of the 2015s is that despite the higher ripeness and lower acidity levels, the wines remain very Burgundian in character."

We are offering these bottles for the lowest prices in the world. Next best is nearly $3800 in Hong Kong and the best US price is a 3pk on Pre-Arrival for $19,616 which breaks down to a bottle price of over $6,500! Our bottles are over $3,000 less than that. To entice you even more, we are offering these for an additional 5% off for this week only!

"There is a wonderfully seductive texture to the sappy, caressing and delicious medium-bodied flavors that possess excellent length on the dusty, balanced and complex finale." - Allen Meadows, Burghound

"Jean-Yves Bizot's 2015 Vosne-Romanée Les Jachées is a striking wine, and this bottle's explosive aromas of Indian spices, red berries, violets and cinnamon did much to conceal the fact that it's actually quite closed on the palate. Medium to full-bodied, deep and concentrated, this Vosne-Romanée is framed by powdery tannins and concludes with a pungently perfumed finish, but it will need a few more years to reveal the full extent of its textural plenitude." - William Kelley (Wine Advocate), 94 points
