"Deep garnet in color with a lingering touch of purple, the 2007 Madrona Ranch Proprietary Red has a truly profound nose—wood smoke, beef drippings, licorice, black soil and truffles—over a core of blackberry preserves and Black Forest cake with black pepper, cinnamon stick, potpourri and dried mint nuances.
