"Bouchard's Chevalier La Cabotte stands out as a 'grand cru' because of its proximity to Montrachet and resemblance to it in style. It isn't Montrachet, even if wine from this 0.21ha vineyard was once sold as such. The 2023 has exotic aromas ranging from green apple and lime peel to nectarine and passionfruit. There is a firm, saline minerality and a suggestion of smoky reduction. The texture has superb concentration, depth and tension.
