'This is a wine that I've been fortunate to have had many times when it was young but this bottle was the first since 2008. Moderate bricking. The beautifully layered nose of sweet sous-bois, spice and smoked meat is complemented by discreet floral wisps. The round, velvety and succulent broad-shouldered flavors possess a gorgeous texture before culminating in a still firm, powerful and strikingly long finish. This is an unusual '85 in that it is borderline robust and while fully mature, it seems clear that it should continue to hold well for years to come." - Burghound, BH94, tasted 11/2023
