"The Jadot 2006 Musigny epitomizes not only the greatness of its site, but the ability of the best wines of its vintage to combine polish and refinement with energy, lift, and vibratory – in this instance, dazzling – interplay of flavor. High-toned red and black fruit as well as herbal essences and bitter-sweet (iris, violet) floral perfume migrate from a trance-inducing nose to a plate of liqueur-like richness and suggestion of sweetness, accompanied by hard to pin-down mineral notes – but both stony and saline, to be sure – that engage in a reverberating call and response with berries and flowers in the finish.
