"Compared to other ’53 clarets recently tasted this has maintained reasonable vigour on the nose, gaining intensity with some gorgeous tarry, cigar box and chocolate scents that billow with time. Superb delineation and lift – you could inhale this all day. Medium-bodied on the palate, very good delineation with an almost ineffable sense of balance. Not quite as complex as say, Mouton ’53 on the finish but it is everything you could wish for in such a wine. A sense of completeness and natural harmony and femininity.
