"I hadn't tried this in almost 15 years and it has come together slightly better than I imagined as the heavy wood char it displayed in its youth has largely been integrated on the still fresh if fully mature aromas of rose petal, spice, tea and mostly secondary red berry fruit. There is excellent vibrancy to the well-detailed and attractively rich middle weight flavors that possess fine complexity on the beautifully long finish. To be sure there is a trace of '96-style dryness though it's not so much as to materially detract from the overall sense of dryness.
