"A background application of wood spice can be detected on the very fresh and unusually high-toned nose, indeed this is presently even airy with a mix of red berry fruit and only touches of earth. There is outstanding richness to the seductively textured and suave big-bodied flavors that also brim with palate coating dry extract that pushes the very firm tannic spine to the background on the hugely persistent finish that is a bit less austere than usual. This is packed with potential, in fact it is so good that I would go so far as to say that it's the best young Mugneret Clos de Vougeot that I have seen in a long time and I include the great vintages of the past for it such as 1959, 1961, 1964 1966, 1976 and 1991 in that statement.
