Ramonet Chevalier Montrachet 2005 750mL

A very toasty nose frames notably ripe and airy white flower and citrus blossom aromas that offer excellent complexity if less elegance than I'm used to seeing, followed by buttery and full-bodied flavors that possess impressive volume and concentration and wrapped in a nicely long finish where the toast resurfaces. This is impressive in its fashion but it is a stylistic departure from prior vintages and long-time fans will not find what they have typically found with this wine before. Indeed, by happenstance this bottle was opened side by side with the '99 Chevalier and the stylistic differences between the two were, it must be said, stark." - Burghound, BH93, tasted 10/2007
